Dimensions: 40″ x 30″
At the age of 75, I finally retired and this painting is my process of reinventing myself and creating a new future. Inspired by Rassouli’s review, Mastering Brushstrokes: Learn from 9 Revolutionary Artists
Rassouli describes how the greatest artists in history used brushstrokes to express emotion, depth, and movement in their paintings. In this inspiring video, he explores the unique painting techniques of nine masters of art — from Renoir’s luminous touches to Farshchian’s poetic curves, from Cézanne’s structured color planes to Signac’s vivid Divisionism.
Rassouli gives examples of the following brushstrokes:
- Renoir used loose strokes to capture light and spontaneity.
- Cézanne built form with rhythmic, probing brushwork.
- Cross and Signac created dazzling vibrancy through Pointillism.
- Segantini added brilliance using gold pigments.
- M.F. Husain painted large, symbolic canvases in cinematic style.
- Hussein Bicar expressed spirituality with pure, rhythmic lines.
- Mahmood Farshchian merged Persian miniature and modern painting with sensual strokes.
- Ferdynand Ruszczyc created dramatic landscapes using chiaroscuro and powerful textures.
