Welcome to Tonilee’s Art Blog. This is my first post, and I dedicate this Blog and art website to Master Artist Freydoon Rassouli who inspired me to share my art.

I am a Fusionart Apprentice with Master Rassouli and all of my acrylic art is a result of his inspiration, guidance, and generous heart.
Rassouli’s words of wisdom have unleashed me as an an artist despite my lack of formal training. I share these quotes in hopes that your own creative expression expands and brings light and love to the world.

Rassouli’s Wisdom

On copying the great masters:
“Be yourself. Express yourself. Do you. Everyone else is taken.”

On technical training:
“Art isn’t about technique. Forget about technique and identity. Just play and have fun with no attachment to the end result.”

On painting idioms:
“Do not paint the idiom. Become the idiom and paint. Imagine all the concepts that could be. Keep the feeling of the idiom. Do not be literal.”

On the subject of art:
“Art is the expression of the artist’s emotions in a rhythmic way.”

On the role of the artist:
“The artist’s job is to transform reality into dream. See the dream and reflect it on the canvas. Do it your way.”

On becoming a master artist:
“To know the basics and develop your identity is surface level. Forget it all. Go deeper and become a master. Feel the energy as you paint. Don’t paint what you see. Paint how you feel the energy.”

Rassouli is an artist, author, and creativity guru. He is the founder of an artistic movement called ‘Fusionart’, a concept focused on uniting opposites. He migrated to the United States from Iran in his teens and currently resides in Southern California.

As an artist, Rassouli has exhibited worldwide. His artworks are widely published and are found in many corporate and private collections. Among them are two major murals painted for the city of Los Angeles — one in Downtown and the other in Venice. In his artwork, Rassouli portrays multi-dimensional planes that continually weave through interrelated forms to connect all elements.

As an author, Rassouli has  published over 24 books, mainly on art, poetry, and mystical concepts. His most popular books include Rumi Revealed, Hafiz: Wisdom of Madness, The Book of Creativity, and Fusionart. His Sufi Wisdom Oracle won the best oracle deck in the International Tarot Foundation 2020 Carta Awards.

As a creativity guru, Rassouli has guided many in living a creative life by tapping into the power of the heart and the wonder and beauty of the soul. He lectures at universities and cultural institutions. His weekly online workshops include creativity and painting lessons and guidance. Rassouli is also conducting a series of discussions on ‘The Wisdom of Madness’ on Spotify and Apple podcasts.
